Nearly 30 years have passed since construction first began at Willowbend, and in that time the luxury residential community, golf course and country club have seen a lot of growth and change. Deb Journalist, a Willowbend homeowner for 13 years, recently decided to downsize from her 5,500-square-foot house to a townhome. She chose the 3,295-square-foot “Willow” house plan, which gives her 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, two patios and a storage space below the townhome.

The “Fairway” is the smaller of the two townhome options, but still offers 2,735 square feet, a full basement, a patio and a separate golf car garage. With their architectural features complementary to existing Willowbend homes, the townhomes maintain the design unity within the community.

Journalist particularly appreciated being involved in every step of customizing her new space to her own taste. From the Benjamin Moore paint colors to the lighting and other fixtures, the home is filled with personally chosen details that make downsizing a real treat. Journalist and her designer opted for light and airy colors that lend the space a traditional, yet coastal feeling.

The Villas provide single-floor luxury living, with four to six individual homes in each building and elevator access to every level.
