Nearly 30 years have passed since construction first began at Willowbend, and in that time the luxury residential community, golf course and country club have seen a lot of growth and change. The newest addition is The Village at Willowbend, comprised of villas and townhomes that offer a low-maintenance alternative to single-family-home living.
Deb Journalist, a Willowbend homeowner for 13 years, recently decided to downsize from her 5,500-square-foot house to a townhome. She chose the 3,295-square-foot “Willow” house plan, which gives her 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, two patios and a storage space below the townhome.
The “Fairway” is the smaller of the two townhome options, but still offers 2,735 square feet, a full basement, a patio and a separate golf car garage. With their architectural features complementary to existing Willowbend homes, the townhomes maintain the design unity within the community.
Journalist particularly appreciated being involved in every step of customizing her new space to her own taste. From the Benjamin Moore paint colors to the lighting and other fixtures, the home is filled with personally chosen details that make downsizing a real treat. Journalist and her designer opted for light and airy colors that lend the space a traditional, yet coastal feeling.
With three layout options available – single-floor villas and two styles of townhomes − there is no wrong decision when choosing a home that suits you best. The Villas provide single-floor luxury living, with four to six individual homes in each building and elevator access to every level. The foyer of each building exudes class and elegance with dark tones giving warmth to the entryway. Each condo has 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and sweeping views of the golf course. The first-floor villas allow access to a private brick or stone patio, while the second-and third-floor villas have deck access. Private garage parking and storage are available for purchase.
“The Village at Willowbend offers great options for the evolving families of our members and residents. As families grow, and grow up, the needs for living space change. New options for both homes and amenities are why people love Willowbend,” says David Southworth, founder and co-owner of Willowbend’s parent company, Southworth Development.
Within walking distance from The Village are two restaurants, a fitness center, pool, tennis courts and the 27-hole golf course, offering a wide variety of activities and places to eat steps from your door. During the cooler months the cranberry bogs come alive with vibrant color.
Willowbend is not just a community, it is also a way of life. Future homeowners at The Village are going to experience a laidback atmosphere and luxurious amenities that are perfect for anyone looking for relaxation and convenience.
“I am looking forward to easier living and less that I will have to take care of and manage,” says Journalist. “It was very important for me to stay close to my friends here at Willowbend.”
